Groco Ltd. was founded in 1983 and has from its inception specialized in laboratory equipment and consumables. The company also provides instrumentation for process and quality control as well as pollutant monitoring.  Moreover, Groco markets pharmaceuticals from Nycomed Danmark among others.


In 1999 Líf Ltd. acquired all shares in Groco and at the beginning of the year 2000, the laboratory marketing department of Líf merged with Groco, thus the company became one of the largest suppliers of laboratory products in Iceland. Groco now employs eleven people and handles marketing and sales and distribution of specialty orders, while the company Parlogis Ltd., oversees distribution of stock items.  In December 2005 Dr. Ari Kr. Sæmundsen, Man. Dir., acquired all stocks in Groco.
